Dean Radin

Dean Radin is one of the world's foremost scientific researchers of psychic and consciousness phenomena — a rigorous experimentalist who has spent more than four decades studying the parts of human experience that mainstream science tends to dismiss. His path was an unusual one: he began as a classical concert violinist before turning to science, earning a degree in electrical engineering (with honours in physics) and a PhD in psychology. He went on to conduct advanced research at AT&T Bell Labs, Princeton University, the University of Edinburgh, and SRI International — where he spent a year on the U.S. government's now-declassified "Star Gate" program, investigating the use of psychic abilities for intelligence gathering. Since 2001, Radin has served as Chief Scientist at the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) — the research organisation founded by Apollo astronaut Edgar Mitchell — and as Associated Distinguished Professor at the California Institute of Integral Studies. Five times elected President of the Parapsychological Association, he brings the tools of controlled experiment, statistics, and meta-analysis to questions most researchers won't touch: Can minds affect physical systems at a distance? Is precognition real? What is the relationship between consciousness and the fabric of reality itself? Across bestselling books including The Conscious Universe, Entangled Minds, Supernormal, Real Magic, and The Science of Magic, he lays out the accumulated evidence with clarity and care, arguing that consciousness may be far more fundamental — and far less confined to the brain — than the materialist worldview allows. Author of hundreds of scientific papers and a speaker at more than 850 venues around the world, Radin has become a bridge between the laboratory and the ancient intuition that mind and matter are deeply intertwined. His work is not without its critics — the study of psi remains fiercely debated — but few have pursued these questions with such scientific discipline and open-minded persistence. For anyone curious about the genuine frontiers of consciousness, and whether the "magic" of the world's wisdom traditions might have an empirical basis, Dean Radin offers a fascinating, evidence-driven guide.
