Nick Ortner is the man who carried EFT tapping from the fringes of alternative healing into millions of mainstream homes. A born entrepreneur from Newtown, Connecticut, his journey began with his own pain: after discovering that this curious technique — gently tapping on acupressure points while voicing what troubles you — relieved what nothing else had, he maxed out his resources in 2007 to produce a documentary, The Tapping Solution, following ten people using tapping to overcome chronic back pain, fibromyalgia, insomnia, and devastating grief. That leap of faith, taken alongside his siblings Jessica and Alex, became one of the great family businesses in modern wellness: The Tapping Solution, now the internet's leading home of EFT. Ortner's New York Times bestsellers — The Tapping Solution: A Revolutionary System for Stress-Free Living, The Tapping Solution for Pain Relief, and most recently REWIRED — translated the method, which combines ancient Chinese acupressure with modern psychology, into plain, practical language for everyday stress, anxiety, and pain. His annual Tapping World Summit, a free online event, has drawn well over a million participants across its editions, and in 2018 the family launched The Tapping Solution App — now with more than thirty million sessions played across 130+ countries, offering over 750 guided tapping meditations for everything from racing minds at bedtime to chronic pain and craving control. What roots Ortner's work in something deeper than business success is service. He and his team have raised over a million dollars for tapping-related causes — genocide orphans in Rwanda, veterans with PTSD, women with cancer — and in 2013, after tragedy struck his own hometown at Sandy Hook Elementary School, he founded The Tapping Solution Foundation to help Newtown's families and first responders heal. He still lives there with his wife Brenna and their two children. His message is as unassuming as the technique itself: relief is literally at your fingertips — and calming the body's stress response, a few taps at a time, can change the whole shape of a life.
